Lee Lawyers has extensive experience in providing advice and resolving business and commercial disputes in the most appropriate and speedy manner. By the time a dispute is referred to us, litigation may be the best solution, but it is not necessarily the only one. Alternative dispute resolution by mediation and so on can be very cost effective. Insurance Claims

We provide the services, experience and qualifications equal to top tier firms in Brisbane but we do not charge top tier rates. Clients with insurance claims are referred to us due to our reputation, not expensive advertising.

Our principal is rather unique in that he is a former insurance underwriter and loss adjuster - Ross remains an ANZIIF Certified Insurance Professional. For this reason we are referred larger, more complex claims. We are experienced in matters concerning work, motor vehicle, property (commercial and personal), business interruption / loss of profit and life insurance. In particular we are known for representing those with toal loss claims involving fire, storm, flood, TPD and so on.

For personal matters, Lee Lawyers usually offers conditional / speculative costs agreement terms and will charge no more than 50% of judgement or settlment proceeds after statutory refunds and disbursements. Risk Management

We would like to think of ourselves as a specialist firm, to which other local professionals refer their clients for advice in legal risk management. We have experience in this area since 1992 and are often asked to be members of a team of professionals on technical issues of risk management law.

For instance, we are consulted by larger self-insured and insured businesses for technical assistance in compiling insurance programs, claims management or insurance policy gap analysis.

Also, setting up a new business or taking it to the next level requires careful thought and consideration. Consulting us sooner rather than later is often a very wise investment. In our role as litigators unfortunately we see all too often where business owners have been "penny wise" but "pound foolish".

 

 

Notary Services

Principal Ross Lee is notary public, appointed by the Court of Faculties, London. Being a notary allows Ross to handle international matters more smoothly in terms of recognition of court papers and other documents.

We are able to complement our legal services with usual notary services, including: taking oaths and declarations, witnessing unsworn documents, verification of copy documents, notarial certificates, bills of exchange and so on. We charge fixed fees for simple work and market hourly rates for complex / novel matters.
